On the eve of 9/11 a panel hold by the Community of Sant’Egidio in connection with the International Meeting of Peoples and Religions in Sarajevo
On Monday September 10th, the Community of Sant’Egidio cosponsored with Georgetown University a special discussion panel, which coincided was the International Prayer for Peace in Sarajevo.
This panel, The Legacies of War and Reconciliation in Bosnia and Herzegovina Living together into the Future, looked at past injustices and the scars that remain at a very personal level for those who lived through the war.
The panelists explored many challenges to peace in the region, yet the panelists also were able to articulate hope in future peace, by understanding the deep history of coexistence that surpasses the more recent tensions and conflicts. The event was very well attended, and was able to manifest a sense of friendship, the Spirit of Assisi.
