Federica Mogherini, the EU’s High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, visited the Community of Sant’Egidio in Maputo

Federica Mogherini’s official visit to the Community of Sant’Egidio occurred yesterday in the DREAM center “para a criança”, in Maputo’s city center. She stayed about one hour with the doctors, patients and children, asking many questions and listening to everyone. After having been received with a traditional dance of the DREAM activists, she thanked the Community of Sant’Egidio for its commitment towards peace, highlighting how DREAM means to fight for rights, especially for those of women. She then went to the DREAM center and the molecular biology laboratory, ending the visit by meeting with DREAM’s and BRAVO’s managers in Mozambique, the Italian ambassador in Mozambique and UNICEF’s representative in the country. Rights, women and peace were the main topics of the meeting, which are all topics that Sant’Egidio has been working towards for years now in Mozambique with DREAM, BRAVO and the work for peace.
