English Class Graduation

This year we had the joy of celebrating our first year of English Class graduates. In September 2024, we launched our first service out of the House of Solidarity – English Classes. It was important to us that this House be a place of welcome for all, which is why this service was so important for us to start.

For several years we had been offering English classes to recent migrants via Zoom, but with the opening of our House of Solidarity, we were thrilled to offer this opportunity in person.

This year we had a beginner level 1 and level 2 class. Four students completed their course and many more came through our doors. They came from various countries–Haiti, Burkina Faso, and Guatemala–with different history and dreams for the future, but all with a shared hope to make a better life for themselves here. Their dedication to learning, notwithstanding the difficulty of their lives and the current situation for immigrants in the United States, was at the center of our celebration.

We are so excited to continue offering classes and to continue expanding our relationship with immigrants.
