School of Peace 2025
On Saturday, June 28th, we had our first exhibit – Table of Friendship – of the children of the School of Peace at our House of Solidarity.
The children depicted who they would invite to their dinner table as well as what foods they would serve. From the elderly to immigrants, everyone was welcome at our table. A table where all of the food expressed our desire to be together. Aaron, one of our fifth grade graduates made a “Tac-hope” – a taco that when you eat it gives you hope and the strength to do good things.
We also had our graduation for the School of Peace as well as for four middle schoolers who finished their first year with Youth for Peace.
We are particularly grateful to have been able to celebrate this moment at the House of Solidarity for the first time. When talking about the House of Solidarity, one of the kids exclaimed “so it’s our’s as well!?” Indeed this is a House of everyone – a house of welcome and solidarity.
The end of year also brings anticipation for the summer, which is always something that we all look forward to. This year we are excited to offer 7 amazing trips to the School of Peace, including one overnight trip.
