The Intercultural and Interreligious Dialogue Conference “A path to Peace” held in Buenos Aires – sponsored by the Episcopal Conference of Argentina, the Latin-American Rabbinical Seminary of Rabbi Abraham Skorka, Islamic organization for Peace, and the Community of Sant ‘ Egidio – was concluded today.
At the conference, which has received the praise and appreciation of Pope Francis, the Sant’Egidio delegation spoke about three themes: “Fanaticism and religion,” “Family and cohabitation,” and “Religions and Ecology.”
At the end the Community received an award for its long work for interreligious dialogue in Buenos Aires in recent years. The award was given at a ceremony, which was presided by the Vice President of the Republic of Argentina.
There were also many students at the conference. A whole session was actually dedicated to children and the youth, a session at which the Youth for Peace of Sant’Egidio said their testimony on the commitment for a culture of coexistence and friendship with the elderly; the youth of the community visit various nursing homes in the capital and the province.
