From July 19th to July 26th, the Community of Sant’Egidio of Uvira, Bukavu, and Goma in the region of Kivu of the Democratic Republic of Congo, celebrated the Jubilee of the Mercy with children and elderly. The passage through the Holy Door was an occasion to renew the alliance between generations, young and old and to overcome those walls that still today isolate so many people in the peripheries of african cities.
In a region that is still so marked by violence and ethnic conflicts, the Community of Sant’Egidio works every day to build peace through works of mercy.
