Secretary General of Organization of the United States visits Sant’Egidio

gennaio segretario oeaThe Secretary General of the Organization of American States, Luis Almagro, accompanied by Ambasadaor Malfatti, President of the Italo-Latin American Institute (IILA), visited Sant’Egidio during his recent trip to Italy. Over the course of his discussions with a delegation from the Community, he thanked them for the support for peace talks in Colombia and asked for continued support for dialogue and reconciliation.

The Secretary General also expressed gratitude for the new humanitarian project of the Community of Sant’Egidio, the “Humanitarian Corridors in Lebanon and Morocco.” He affirmed that “the support of humane protection, paired with a thorough and individualized work of integration, done as Sant’Egidio does, is a model to be made known in the American continent.”
