In the year of the Jubilee of Mercy, Pope Francis invited young people between 13 to 16 in Rome for the Jubilee of Children held from April 23 to April 25.
There will be a tent in seven squares in the historic center of Rome, each one dedicated to one of the spiritual and corporal works of mercy. In Piazza Santa Maria in Trastevere, the Community of Sant’Egidio will host one of the seven tents that will tell to the pilgrims and citizens of Rome and the world the testimony on the works of mercy, especially about welcoming pilgrims and comforting the afflicted.
Pope Francis prepared a message inviting all children to participate
The Tent of Mercy will be a place to meet and encounter other children, but also to here testimonies on these works of mercy. It will be run by the children of the movement Youth for Peace. The groups or individual pilgrims will be able to choose among the various meetings organized within the Sant’Egidio tent. The Community will have videos and eyewitness accounts on the themes of reception and care of the weak on Saturday the 23rd (at 10, 12 , 15, and 17 ), on Sunday the 24th (at 15, 17, and 19) and Monday the 25th at 10 and 12. The days will take place, based on time of the videos, but also on the participants of the groups in two manners. One is the viewing of the videos and hearing the testimonies, while the other is an opportunity to live a concrete experience of visiting and serving the poor with the Community of Sant’Egidio
