Happy Easter to All! May we welcome the joy of the resurrection together and run to share it with others.
This year the joy of Easter is even greater: the Churches of East and West celebrate it together, in one voice announcing to the world the victory of life over death, of love over hate.
It is a prophetic sign of unity and hope, in a time marked by so many divisions and wars. The light of the Risen One shines in the darkness of history and calls us to be artisans of peace.
This Easter, we carry in our hearts, the many crosses of the world.
- That of Ukraine, where the war gives no respite and the population also suffers from declining international aid (for whom our Easter Collection is being offered this year);
- That of the Holy Land, bloodied by a war that affects thousands of civilians and urgently calls for a path of peace and reconciliation among peoples;
- That of the many forgotten conflicts: in Syria, Yemen, Haiti, Sudan, Congo, South Sudan where people die every day in the silence of the world.
United in the joy of the Resurrection, let us renew our commitment to peace, to the poor, and all who suffer.
